The total number of confirmed coronavirus cases continuously increasing in India. As of 15 Apr, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare have confirmed a total of 10,815 cases, 1,190 recoveries and 353 deaths in the country.
On 14 April, the prime minister annouanced extended the ongoing nationwide lockdown till 3 May. Several states had asked for the extension of the lockdown and some states had already extended it.
Meanwhile, India's unemployement rate is growing. The coronavirus lockdown in India has left tens of millions of migrant workers unemployed. Clearly, a lockdown to stave off a pandemic is turning into a humanitarian crisis.
