New Delhi: The All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) has firmly reiterated its stance against the implementation of a Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in India, declaring that such a code is unacceptable to the Muslim community. The Board emphasized that it would never compromise on the principles of Sharia law, which governs the personal lives of Muslims in areas such as marriage, divorce, inheritance, and other family matters.
"We will never compromise with Sharia law," a spokesperson for the AIMPLB stated during a press conference held today. "The Prime Minister's recent remarks, where he labeled religious personal laws as communal, are highly objectionable.
