Kolkata, August 21, 2024 – Shocking new details have emerged in the ongoing investigation of the Kolkata rape case involving Sanjay Roy. Authorities have revealed that Roy, who is accused of a heinous crime, had spent the hours before the incident in a troubling series of events that took him across some of Kolkata's most notorious areas.
According to police sources, on the night of August 8, Sanjay Roy, accompanied by an unidentified companion, visited the Sonagachi red-light district in North Kolkata. Sonagachi, known as one of Asia's largest red-light areas, is often bustling with activity late into the night. It has been reported that Roy had been consuming alcohol prior to his visit.
The two men reportedly arrived in Sonagachi after midnight. While Roy waited outside, his companion entered a prostitute’s residence. The pair then made their way to Chetla, another red-light area located in South Kolkata, at approximately 2:00 AM.
