Delhi Assembly Elections: Possibilities of alliance between AAP and Congress put on hold, announce to contest elections separately
New Delhi, 4 September 2024: While the possibilities of an alliance between the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Congress are being considered in view of the upcoming Haryana Assembly elections, the situation in Delhi has become clear. Regarding the Delhi Assembly elections, both the parties have made it clear that they will contest the elections separately.
This decision was taken after the results of the Lok Sabha elections on June 4, 2024, when Congress and AAP in Delhi announced that they would not form any alliance for the assembly elections. Since this announcement, Delhi Congress has started attacking the Aam Aadmi Party on civic issues, especially corruption cases.
Delhi Congress has surrounded the Aam Aadmi Party government and alleged that they are doing widespread corruption in the civic system of Delhi. However, the top leaders of Aam Aadmi Party are not reacting to these allegations and are maintaining silence on this matter.
Delhi Congress leaders say that they will corner the Aam Aadmi Party in this election on the basis of its "failures" and bring the truth before the people of Delhi. On the other hand, Aam Aadmi Party leaders have refrained from making any statements on this issue and have said that they will focus on the development work for the people.
Political experts believe that the decision of both the parties to contest separately in Delhi can prove to be a turning point in the upcoming assembly elections. The electoral contest is likely to be tough due to the increasing tension between the two parties.
In the context of Haryana, talks are still going on between the two parties regarding an alliance, but in Delhi politics, the possibilities of this alliance are now over. In view of the electoral mathematics and strategies, the voters of Delhi will see a different political scenario in this election.
