Ambassadors and HCs of Cambodia, Maldives, Somalia, Cuba and Nepal present credentials to President Murmu. President accepted credentials from the Ambassadors/High Commissioners of the three countries at a ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi. The ceremony marked the start of a series of meetings to strengthen India-Cambodia ties. The meetings were held to discuss ways to further strengthen Buddhist linkages between India and Cambodia, including in the areas of education and health care. The meeting was also to discuss how to strengthen the relationship between the two countries in terms of trade, investment, and other areas. The event was attended by the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, as well as senior members of the Indian government and business leaders. The President of the United States, Barack Obama, also attended the event, as did the United Nations Secretary-General, Ban Ki-moon, who was in New York for the UN General Assembly meeting on the economy. The U.N. General Assembly is expected to meet on February 14 and 15 to discuss the economic situation in the world.
