Andre Pallante, the right-hander pitcher, has come out on top of his salary arbitration case. The arbitration was against the St. Louis Cardinals, winning which he secured himself a $2.1 million salary for the 2025 season. The decision made by the arbitrator’s panel on Thursday meant Pallente would earn slightly more than the original team’s $1.925 million offer. The 26-year-old player has come off as a strong player in the 2024 season and is expected to be the key part of the team’s starting rotation in the next season. Making 29 appearances, with 20 starts, he posted a 3.78 solid ERA while striking out his career-high 94 batters over his 121 1/3 innings. The biggest factor in the improvement of the player was the addition of the new sinker before the last season, making him an effective starter while solidifying his role within rotation. Though he is not known for high strikeout numbers, his strikeout rates remain at 18.5%. His ability and consistency to keep the hitters off balance have further made him a valuable asset.
