BJP’s Rekha Gupta becomes Delhi CM, the 4th woman to hold the position. The BJP’s last Chief Minister of Delhi was Sushma Swaraj, who held the position briefly in 1998. The swearing-in ceremony for the new Chief Minister is scheduled for tomorrow, February 20, at 10 AM at Ramlila Maidan. The 48 newly elected BJP legislators gathered to elect their leader, who will now become Delhi’s Chief Minister. The announcement follows a meeting of the BJP’s Parliamentary Board, during which observers Ravi Shankar Prasad and Om Prakash Dhankar were assigned to oversee the selection process. As a first-time MLA, ReKha Gupta is also the only female BJP Chief Minister among the 18 states governed by the BJP-led NDA. She will be sworn in on February 20 at 10am at the Ramlilla Maidan in Delhi, India’s capital and largest city, after a strong win in the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections.
