BSES said smart electricity procurement strategies, including long-term power purchase agreements and banking arrangements with other states had ensured uninterrupted power supply in Delhi. BSES, through its two companies – BSES Rajdhani Power Limited and BSES Yamuna Power Limited – caters to nearly 50 lakh consumers across south, west, east and central Delhi. AAP alleged that parts of the city had seen long power cuts after the party was dislodged from power. BJP, which won the assembly election, has already denied the charge of power supply interruptions, saying the allegations of power cuts were \”false and misleading\” The company claimed that the city’s peak power demand was stable, ranging between 4200-4500 MW, since Feb 8, when the election results were announced. The company said that consumers can easily reach BSES through multiple platforms, including toll-free helpline numbers, WhatsApp numbers and mobile apps. It said that up to 2000 MW of renewable energy is significantly contributing to meeting BSES’ winter power demand.
