Congress stages ‘mock Assembly’ outside Vidha Sabha amid deadlock. Congress legislators engaged in debates, raised questions, and even staged disruptions. The controversy stems from a remark made by Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Avinash Gehlot on February 21 regarding Indira Gandhi, which Congress deemed offensive. Six Congress MLAs were suspended from the Assembly following the impasse in the Rajasthan Assembly. The state Congress chief Govind Singh Dotasra stated that the party is demanding the removal of derogatory remarks made against former Prime Minister Indira Gandhian from Assembly records. He said that the government has remained unyielding and that the protest will continue until our demands are met. The impasse is expected to continue until the end of the budget session on February 28. The Rajasthani legislature is currently in its third week of a six-week session. The session was supposed to be the final day of budget discussions inside the assembly, but has been delayed due to the deadlock in the Assembly.
