The police officials were informed about the situation, after which the Narona police reached the spot. The clash even led the police to baton-charge those trying to foment trouble. The incident follows another case in Karnataka a second-year MBBS student from Anantnag, Kashmir, studying at Al-Ameen Medical College in Bijapur, Karnataka, was allegedly subjected to brutal ragging and physical assault by senior students. It is not known if the students involved have been arrested. The case is being investigated by the Karnataka University of Medical Sciences and Technology. The university authorities are yet to comment on the incident, but have warned both sides of arrests and prosecution if there was more violence.
