External Affairs Minister (EAM) S Jaishankar is on an official tour in the UK. He was greeted by his \”well wishers\” after the morning walk in London on Sunday. Earlier on March 8, on the occasion of International Women’s Day, he met cricketers Fi Morris and Olivia Bell at Emirates Old Trafford Stadium. A pro-Khalistani protester had attempted to break barricades while others shouted anti-India slogans. One of the protestors also tore the Indian flag during the incident. The Ministry of External Affairs had issued a statement on Thursday, in which it said that it expects the host government to live up to its diplomatic obligations in such cases. It slammed the \”misuse of democratic freedoms\” by Khalistani elements. The British foreign ministry had also said that attempts to disrupt public events were unacceptable. The visit to the UK, part of his official tour from March 4 to 9, aims to provide renewed momentum to India’s engagement with both the UK and Ireland.
