Iconic US actor Gene Hackman, wife, dog found dead in Santa Fe home. Hackman was renowned for his Oscar-winning role as an American drug enforcement agent in thriller \”The French Connection\” His other Oscar-nominated roles were in \”Bonnie and Clyde\” opposite Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway – and \”I Never Sang for My Father\”, as well as \”Mississippi Burning\” He was perhaps best known for playing supervillain Lex Luthor in the Christopher Reeve-starring Superman movies in the 1970s and 1980s. His film career lasted over six decades and included roles in \”Unforgiven\”, \”The Bridge Too Far\” and \”The Conversation\” He is survived by his wife, Betsy Arakawa, 63, and their dog, who was also found dead with him at his home in New Mexico. He was 95 years old. He had been married for more than 40 years. He is the father of two children. He also had a stepson and a stepdaughter.
