Juan Carlos Tello, 28, was hit by a train in Lima on Saturday, Mar. 8. He was ‘apparently’ in a ‘state of intoxication’ when he fell asleep on the tracks. Tello sustained injuries to his left arm, and also he had minor hand injuries. The train was en route to the Peruvian Andes and stopped quickly after the collision. In May, a passenger bus collided with a cargo train in central Peru killing four people and injuring more than 30. It occurred in the district of La Oroya, about 110 miles east of Lima. Many accidents were reported earlier, including one in August 2024, when a man was struck and killed by a cargoTrain while attempting to cross the tracks in Peru. The man’s miraculous escape from an almost fatal accident has left the onlookers as well as authorities surprised. “The train knocked him over but through some miracle did not kill him,” said General Javier Avalos of the town of Ate.
