Liam Lawson has been promoted to the full-time Red Bull team. The 23-year-old has spent the past two seasons as a test and reserve driver. Lawson will race alongside Max Verstappen in the RB21 this season. He is one of six rookies on the 2025 Formula 1 grid, along with Kimi Antonelli, Jack Doohan, Oliver Bearman, Isack Hadjar, and Gabriel Bortoleto. The New Zealander is determined to make the most of his opportunity at the highest level of the sport. He has already competed in real race conditions and worked closely with Red Bull’s main team, so has the advantage of experience that most newcomers lack. The challenge will be to establish himself as a worthy partner to the reigning four-time world champion, who has dominated the sport in recent years. The pre-season testing sessions in Bahrain have already given Lawson a taste of what to expect from theRB21. The RB21 is in a strong position heading into the campaign, according to Lawson.
