Mauritius is a close maritime neighbour, and a gateway to the African Continent. The two countries will be signing an agreement on sharing information. The agreement will help improve the safety and security of the Indian Ocean. It will also enable the two countries to cooperate in the prevention of piracy and piracy related to the use of illegal drugs. The deal is part of India’s ‘Think West’ policy, which aims to strengthen ties between India and the rest of the world. It is also part of the ‘Security and Growth for All in the Region’ policy. This is the first time that an Indian Navy ship has visited Mauritius since it was built in the 1980s. The Indian Navy is also expected to participate in the celebrations, along with a contingent from the Indian Air Force and a team from the Mauritian Coast Guard. The event is being organised by the Indian Embassy in Mauritius, which is based in the capital city of Port Louis, on the island of St Vincent and the Grenadines. The island is home to a large number of Indian expatriate communities, many of whom live in Mauritian islands.
