Pravin Godkhindi is a Hindustani flautist, teacher and music composer. He is set to perform at a music concert in the city this weekend. In 2002, a music school was inaugurated by Ustaad Zakir Hussain, where aspiring musicians learn flute, tabla, and vocal HindUSTani classical music. ‘We want the legacy of classical music to continue and to provide young artists a platform to showcase their talent,’ he says. He adds: ‘With the right support, we can instil confidence in budding musicians to make professional careers in classical music’ The concert is scheduled to take place on Saturday at the Bangalore International Centre for the Performing Arts (BICPA) in Bangalore, Karnataka.
