Punjabi music producer Pushpinder Dhaliwal held on charges of forgery, intimidation made by Sunanda Sharma. Sharma has accused him of wrongful restraint, criminal intimidation and forgery. The women’s commission had taken suo motu cognisance of Sunanda’s plea and directed Punjab Police to submit an action-taken report. The police had registered a case and initiated further legal proceedings. The Punjab state women’s commission “remains committed to ensuring justice and will continue to pursue all necessary legal actions to protect women’s rights and dignity,” said Raj Gill, chair of the commission. The case is being investigated by the Punjab State Commission for Women and the matter is under investigation by Punjab Police. The investigation is being handled by Punjab State Police and the case has been referred to the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
