Rudraksha is a bead that is often connected to Lord Shiva. It is worn by Shiva devotees and ordinary people not just in India, but also around the world. A Rudraksh can be worn by anyone, no matter what religion, class, or ethnicity, but there are always certain rules and precautions to wearing it. Here we mention some of the rules and procedures to follow when wearing a Rudrakha. The most common type of Rudraksh is the Panchmukhi (5 faced) and the most common is the Ikkismukhi(21 faced) The beads are given to people by spiritual or religious Gurus owing to what problems they have. They should be worn with proper initiation and procedure, and thus it should not be removed just on a whim. The beads should be soaked in ghee and milk to activate and energise them. They are not to be worn during a funeral or in mourning as it can absorb the energy around.
