Sudiksha Konanki, a 20-year-old University of Pittsburgh student, went missing from a beach in Punta Cana. She was last seen early Thursday morning near the Riu Republica Hotel, where she was vacationing with friends. The search has covered coastal areas, including Bávaro, with helicopters and ground patrols scouring nearby locations. The Indian Embassy in the Dominican Republic is actively coordinating efforts alongside local law enforcement and the US State Department. The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office in Virginia was notified on Thursday evening and has been working with federal agencies to support the search. Her father described her as an ambitious young woman who aspired to become a doctor. She wanted to pursue a career in medicine,’ her father said. “She’s a very nice girl. She’s ambitious,” he said.
