Sukhdev Kewat is a 100% visually impaired student from Chiknidih, a small village in Sarangarh-Bilaigarh, Chhattisgarh. He made India proud at the Dubai 2025 World Para Athletics Grand Prix – 16th Fazza in Dubai. Competing in the T11 visually impaired category, Sukhdev clinched the silver medal in the 400-metre race, clocking an impressive 59.00 seconds. His remarkable performance didn’t stop there. He also participated in the 1500-metres race, finishing in 4 minutes and 39 seconds, securing the sixth position among global competitors. His achievement holds special significance as he was the only Indian athlete in his category at the prestigious international event held from February 6 to February 14. But for him, this is just the beginning. “I dream of representing India in more national and international para-athletics events, bringing pride to my country, and improving my family’s financial situation,” he says with unwavering determination.
