The grand celebration was attended by Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, along with a distinguished audience. The honor stands as a powerful tribute to the veteran actor’s enduring legacy, not just as an actor, but as an icon who has influenced generations. “I believe the years I spent in chawl was the greatest time in my life. I am more Maharastrian than anything else. I thank you all for felicitating me with this honourable award,” said the 83-year-old star of over 200 films to his name in a speech at the event. He also said: “While I lived in a small chawls in Girgaw, there was always sufficient amount of love. Today I am a 83 year old man and I believe I am the most fortunate man in the world.”
