The Sensex was up 287.59 points or 0.39 percent at 74,620.17, and the Nifty was up 89.75 points or0.40 percent at 22,642.25. The Nifty extended its winning streak to three sessions, while the Sensex dipped slightly, their biggest gain in three months. The broader market, represented by mid and smallcap indices underperformed with the midcap 100 and smallcaps 100 index falling 0.1 and 0.4 percent, respectively. Shares of IndusInd Bank fell 5 percent on Monday, hitting a 52-week low, after multiple analysts downgraded the stock and slashed price targets. Tata Power rose 2 percent after its subsidiary, Tata Power Renewable Energy, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Andhra Pradesh to develop up to 7,000 MW of renewable energy projects. The estimated investment in these projects stands at up to Rs 49,000 crore. The 20-day moving average is within within a candlestick pattern. If the market stays above 22,470 during an upswing or doesn’t close below 22,300 in the coming days, the Sun, Sun Pharma, Bharti Airtel, and Bajaj Finserv were the top gainers on the N50.
