The Uttar Pradesh excise department has invited 239 applications for composite liquor vends in Noida for the next fiscal year. The revised policy introduces composite liquor shops, where both beer and Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) will be sold together. The new policy has significantly raised application fees, in some cases doubling the previous rates. Applications can be submitted between February 17 and 27, and only two shops will be allotted per person across the state. The total number of liquor shops in NoIDA will increase from 353 to 501 under the new policy, with 239 designated as composite Liquor Vends. The first phase of the e-lottery will be drawn on March 6, with the allotment process for 501 liquor shops beginning on February 14, the excise department said. The application fee has been increased so that only those who are genuinely interested in the business participate, an excise officer said. It is expected to generate substantial revenue for the excise Department, which will renew licences for the city’s 29 premium liquor vended.
