The victim has no legs and has 80% disability. Police said they nabbed the accused duo from a farm in Nadiad village of Jambusar. They were charged with gang rape and criminal conspiracy, besides other sections of the BNS Act. According to a complaint filed by the victim’s mother, her daughter was raped when she was sleeping in a shanty with her family members. The father of the girl identified the accused and named them in the FIR. The victim’s identity has not been revealed to protect her privacy as per Supreme Court directives on cases related to sexual assault. The accused had oil with them, which they used during the crime, the complaint stated. They allegedly subjected the victim to unnatural sex as well, it said. The girl’s sister-in-law woke up in the night and started crying, and on hearing the cries, the girl’s father chased the accused, after which they fled. Police are investigating if the accused have a criminal history.
