In a significant step toward tribal empowerment, TRIFED has signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with Reliance Retail, HCL Foundation, and Torajamelo Indonesia to promote tribal entrepreneurship and enhance market access for tribal products. The agreements were formalized on February 19, 2025, during the Aadi Mahotsav festival at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium, New Delhi.
Key Highlights of the Partnerships:
- Reliance Retail: Will facilitate bulk procurement, branding, and promotion of tribal products across its retail network.
- HCL Foundation: Will support tribal artisans with capacity-building programs, skill enhancement, and marketing initiatives.
- Torajamelo Indonesia: Will aid in expanding international sales and marketing Indian tribal products in Indonesia, fostering cultural exchange.
The MoUs were exchanged in the presence of Shri Ashish Chatterjee, Managing Director of TRIFED, and senior representatives from the partner organizations.
Aadi Mahotsav & Government Support
The Aadi Mahotsav – National Tribal Festival, inaugurated by President Smt. Droupadi Murmu on February 16, 2025, celebrates tribal craft, culture, and commerce. Union Tribal Affairs Minister Shri Jual Oram, MoS Shri Durga Das Uikey, and MP Ms. Bansuri Swaraj were also present.
TRIFED, under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, continues to champion tribal economic welfare through market development, helping artisans connect with mainstream markets and fostering self-reliance.
