U.S. President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy clashed at the White House on Friday. European leaders posted on social media in support of Ukraine. They did not directly criticise Trump, but made clear they stood by Kyiv. The comments highlight a major rift between the U.S and Europe over the war since Trump returned to office in the United States this week. The European Union’s foreign policy chief, Kaja Kallas, was blunt in her comments. She said: \”We must never confuse aggressor and victim in this terrible war\” The European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Council President Antonio Costa – the European EU’s two top officials – also expressed support for Ukraine. The two leaders had been expected to conclude a deal on exploiting Ukraine’s mineral resources but Zelenskyy left the White. House without signing the agreement. The U.N. Security Council is expected to meet on Saturday to discuss the situation in Ukraine.
