Union minister Ravneet Singh Bittu criticized Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann’s stance on deported Indian migrants from the US. The criticism came as a second batch of Indian nationals, who allegedly migrated illegally to the US, arrived at Amritsar airport early Sunday. \”It is not good to do politics on every issue. If the migrants are from UP or Gujarat and are landing in Punjab, what is wrong with it? They will be welcomed in Punjab and be sent to their respective states,\” said BittU. A family member of one of the deported immigrants revealed the financial toll of the illegal migration attempt. \”He had reached the US eight months ago… his family had sold their land for him to go there,\” said the family member, who lives in Punjab. The first flight, a US Air Force plane carrying Indian citizens who allegedly entered the US illegally, had landed in Amrit’sar on February 5. The chief minister confirmed that the deportees would remain in Amirtsar temporarily before being transported to their respectively states.
