Vietnam is set to introduce a visa-on-arrival facility for Indian tourists, aiming to boost tourism between the two countries. This initiative will allow Indian travelers to obtain their visas upon arrival at designated Vietnamese international airports, streamlining the entry process.
Currently, Indian citizens are required to secure a visa prior to their arrival in Vietnam, either through an online application or by obtaining a visa-on-arrival approval letter via authorized agencies. The forthcoming policy change is expected to simplify travel for Indian tourists, making Vietnam a more accessible destination.
In addition to the visa-on-arrival facility, Vietnam has been enhancing its visa policies to attract more international visitors. Since August 2023, the country has implemented e-visas for citizens of all nations, extending the duration of stay from 30 to 90 days with multiple entries. Furthermore, Vietnam has expanded its visa exemption list to include 33 more countries, focusing on key tourism markets such as Europe, North America, India, the Middle East, and Northeast Asia.
These measures reflect Vietnam’s commitment to fostering tourism growth and strengthening its ties with countries like India.
