Zach Banner, a former offensive tackle for the Pittsburgh Steelers, announced his plans to return to the NFL after a three-year battle with injuries and strengthening his character. Banner’s professional career began with high hopes when the Indianapolis Colts selected him in the fourth round of the 2017 NFL Draft. In the NFL 2020 Season opener against the New York Giants, Banner tore his ACL, putting him on the injured list for the rest of the season. Despite his determination to play, he appeared in just 7 matches in 2021. The Steelers decided to release him in March 2022. Banner remained unsigned, focusing on rehabilitation and personal endeavors. He established the B3Foundation to assist students in Guam, Tacoma, Washington, and Los Angeles, and academically and athletically support them. The future may see him back with the Steelers or find a new home in the NFL, but wherever it is, one fact remains: the story for Zach Banner won’t stop here. It is an inspiring tale of resilience, passion, and love for the game. The four years ahead will be challenging, but certainly a source of inspiration for so many others thanks to this tenacious spirit.
