The unquestioned highlight of the final was the ball with which Siva flummoxed the great Javed Miandad, a ripper of a leg-break that beat the outside edge and saw him stumped by yards. The sky seems to be the limit for Varun. He too is far from orthodox in his methods, and it’s the variations in pace and flight that cause the most confusion. So far, teams have yet to come to grips with how to handle Varun, who has been India’s X-factor in this tournament.
