Rekha Gupta is a seasoned BJP leader with a long political career rooted in student leadership. She won the Shalimar Bagh (North-West) seat in the 2025 Delhi Assembly Election with 68,200 votes. The 50-year-old has previously been the National Vice President of BJP’s Mahila Morcha. The decision was made at a meeting of all newly-elected BJP MLAs at the party headquarters in New Delhi on Wednesday evening. She will be the fourth CM of Delhi, and it is a very good thing that women are showing up in politics with great enthusiasm, says AAP’s Arvind Kejriwal. The next Delhi Chief Minister will be sworn-in on Thursday, the same day as the general elections in Delhi. The general election in Delhi will be held on December 18. The results of the general election will be announced on December 19. The first phase of the elections will take place on December 14. The second phase of elections will be on December 21.
