A 23-year-old engineering student from Mizoram was stabbed to death by his college mate. The victim, VL Valentine, was a fourth-year student at a private engineering college. His collegemate, Lamsang Swala (23), has been taken into custody in connection with the case. A group of students had been drinking alcohol together when a heated argument broke out. During the altercation, Valentine was stabbed. He was rushed to a nearby private hospital and later shifted to a hospital in Thiruvananthapuram, but he succumbed to his injuries, police added. The incident occurred around 10.45pm on Saturday in Nagaroor, Kerala, police said. The investigation into the death of Valentine is under way, according to police. The case has been referred to the Kerala High Court, which is yet to issue a formal complaint in the case, they added.
