Bharti Mittal received the insignia of the Knight Commander of the British Empire. He was presented the medal at a special ceremony at the British High Commissioner’s residence in New Delhi. The ceremony follows the announcement in 2024 that the King would confer the honour on Mittal for his services to the UK-India relations. He said it is an honour to have received the honour from the King and that he will continue to work with the UK government to advance the bilateral relations between India and the UK. He also said he would continue to meet with the British government to discuss ways of accelerating the pace of economic growth in the UK and India. The event was attended by senior officials from the UK, India, the US and Australia, as well as members of the Indian business community and the Indian government. It was the first of its kind in the history of the KBE, which has been awarded to people who have made a significant contribution to the development of the UK economy. The honour was presented to Mittal on behalf of the Queen, the Queen and the Government of the United Kingdom, and he said it was an honour for him to be given the honour.
