Kannada actor Ranya Rao was sent to a 14-day judicial custody till March 24 in the alleged gold smuggling case by a court in Bengaluru on Monday. Rao appeared before the Economic Offences Court and claimed \”trauma and emotional distress\” The actor also broke down in the courtroom and alleged \”verbal and mental harassment in the custody of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) Rao was earlier remanded to a 3-day DRI custody until March 10. The DRI advocate stated during the hearing today that all procedures were recorded, after the court sought to know if she was physically tortured in custody. The actor was released on bail on March 10 and will be back in court on March 14. The case is still under investigation and is expected to be heard in court again on March 17 and 18.
