Karsan Ghavri turns 75 next week. He celebrated his birthday with close friends and family members in Mumbai. The party was hosted by politician Krishna Hegde. Salim Khan, Raveena Tandon, Ashutosh Gowariker, Madhur Bhandarkar and Salil Ankola were in attendance. Other guests included former Indian cricketers Balwinder Singh Sandhu with wife Bittu, Yajuvinder Singh with wife Leena and actors Tej Sapru, Mukesh Rishi, producer Rikku Rakesh Nath, Dr Nagraj Huilgol, industrialists Dilip Dandekar and Pravin Dongre. Guests enjoyed singer Vaishali Samant’s performance while Salim Kahn regaled the gathering with his anecdotes. In December 2019, Saurashtra Cricket Association appointed him Head Coach of their Ranji Team. In 2006 he was head coach of Tripura. He used to be a left-arm fast-medium pace bowler, with a long run-up and a high leaping action. He started his career playing Ranji Trophy for Saurashtra, but later he played for Mumbai.
