Manish Vijay, his mother, and sister were found dead at their residence in Kochi, Kerala. The police have registered a case of unnatural death in the matter and launched a probe. The family, originally from Jharkhand, lived at the Kakkanad Customs Quarters in Kerala’s Ernakulam district. Manish’s sister Shalini had recently received a court summon directing her to appear before a court in Jharkshand on February 15 in connection with a case investigated by the CBI. She was an accused in the case, which pertains to irregularities in her appointment in the government service, PTI quoted police sources as saying. The siblings were found hanging, while Shakuntala was discovered dead on her bed, her body draped in a white cloth with flowers sprinkled over it. The incident came to light when colleagues of Manish visited his residence, prompted by his unusual absence from work after a four-day leave. However, the exact cause of their mother’s death can be ascertained only after the autopsy. Police added that their younger sister is expected to arrive in Kocho on Saturday, following which the autopsy will be conducted.
