Rishab Shetty is gearing up for the release of the highly awaited ‘Kantara: Chapter 1’ The film will be the prequel to the 2022 blockbuster. Reports suggest the filmmaker will be shooting the biggest war scene in the film. The war sequence is one of the most ambitious ever filmed, requiring Shetty to dedicate a significant amount of time and effort to bring the scene to life. The film is written and directed by Shetty and also stars himself and Jayaram in the lead roles. It will be released on October 2nd, 2025 coinciding with Gandhi Jayanti. B. Ajaneesh Loknath, who composed the music for the 2022 film, is also composing the soundtrack and background score for theprequel. The story was based on two timelines, beginning in 1847 when a weary king encounters Panjurli Daiva, a local deity in the forest. Fast forward to 1990, tensions rise as a forest officer attempts to convert this land into a reserve, leading to conflict with Shiva, a Kambala athlete and descendant of the king. The upcoming film will dwell on the past.
