Savita Punia, Bichu Devi, and Bansari Solanki were engaged in a special camp with former Netherlands player and 1990 World Cup gold medallist Simon Zijp in Bhubaneswar. Chief coach Harendra Singh said, “It was a fantastic camp for all three goalkeepers. I think they progressed quite well, not just with some basics but around the finer details as well. They focused a lot on how a goalkeeper thinks, what the mindset should be when the ball is in the circle, and when it is at the other end of the pitch. I am grateful to Simon for taking the time for this camp, and I hope this is the start of a long association with Indian goalkeepers”Currently, the Indian women’s team is placed sixth in the FIH Hockey Pro League 2024-25 points table. The tournament runs from February 28 to March 2, with eight matches in 11 days. The home leg of the tournament takes place in New Delhi.
