The Allahabad High Court has asked the Archaeological Survey of India to clean the premises of the Jama Masjid in Sambhal. The order was passed on an application by the Committee of Management of the mosque. According to the ASI report, the interior has ceramic paint and there is no need to whitewash it at present. The ASI will appoint a team of three officers to inspect the mosque on Friday morning and make a report to the court. The court has asked them to clean and clear the grass on the mosque site before the start of the holy month of Ramzan.
