The eighth edition of the forum took place in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia’s capital. It brought together policymakers, investors, and key figures from both the public and private sectors. Participants underscored the urgent need to leverage Africa’s abundant natural resources and human capital. More than 60 per cent of the continent’s population is under 25 years old. The forum highlighted the need for robust investments in human capital, technology, and infrastructure to lay the groundwork for strong regional value chains that can drive Africa’s economic transformation. The Africa Business Forum serves as a vital platform for discussions on the challenges, opportunities, and actions necessary to accelerate the realisation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals and Agenda 2063 for the continent’s transformation. It is jointly organized by the UNECA and the Africa Finance Corporation.
