Two unidentified persons opened fire in the air in the Ambala Court complex here on Saturday. No one was hurt in the incident. Police recovered three empty cartridges from the spot. They are scanning CCTV footage of the adjoining areas, adding that efforts were on to nab them. They suspected some old rivalry behind the incident, police said. The incident took place in front of a large crowd of onlookers in the court complex. Police said the two persons came in an SUV. After opening the fire, they fled, said police, who are trying to track them down. They have not yet been identified. The case is being investigated by the Punjab and Haryana Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) and the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) The incident occurred at around 2.30pm. The Ambala court complex is located in the heart of the city. It is located on the banks of the Indira Gandhi National Highway. It has a court complex, a police station and a sports complex. The court complex was built in the 1960s. It was the first court in the state to be opened in the aftermath of the Indian independence. The first court to be set up in the city was in the 1970s. The current court is in the second phase of the construction process.
