West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee came under fire from the seers’ fraternity for calling the Maha Kumbh, a ‘Mrityu KumbH’ Mamata’s statement was condemned by all the prominent seers, including the largest organisation of seers. The seers unanimously demanded that Mamata retract her words and issue a public apology. Earlier, Mamata made a controversial remark in the state assembly on Tuesday, referring to the recent stampede incident at New Delhi railway station. She claimed that not 30 but thousands of people died in the stampede there (in Prayagraj). Before Mamata, former Bihar CM and RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav said thatKumbh is useless.
