A court has sentenced a man and his sister-in-law to life in prison. The court found them guilty of causing the death of their wife. The case was filed against them under Indian Penal Code sections 498A (cruelty to a woman), 304B (murder), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 34 (common intention) The court also imposed a fine of Rs 35,000 on the couple. The victim’s family had accused the couple of dowry theft. The family has denied the allegations. The trial is expected to take place in the next few days, the court said. The sentence has been handed down by Additional District and Sessions Court Judge Pawan Kumar Srivastava.
