A janitor at Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Hospital has been accused of sexually assaulting a minor girl. The complaint was lodged by the 15-year-old girl’s mother at SMS police station. She alleged that Jacky Valmiki, employed as a sanitation worker in the hospital’s neurology ward, engaged in indecent acts and made lewd remarks towards her daughter. An FIR has been registered under the POCSO Act based on the mother’s complaint. The girl’s statement will be recorded before a magistrate in court Monday, a police official said. (The victim’s identity has not been revealed to protect her privacy as per Supreme Court directives on cases related to sexual assault) the alleged incident took place on March 6 when girl’s sister and other family members went for a laboratory test, leaving her alone with the janitor. The mother said her daughter confided in her about the incidents, prompting her to lodge an FIR under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act. \”We are verifying the allegations and also the girl’s age from her school records. We will then arrest the accused if the allegations are found genuine,\” said a police station SHO Dharmendra Kumar.
