A man from Bhutta village attacked a woman with a knife after he was made to apologise publicly for harassing her. The incident took place shortly after a Panchayat meeting, where the man was forced to admit his wrongdoing. The accused fled the scene immediately after the attack, and the police are currently searching for him. The victim is a 40-year-old woman from the same village. According to her husband, the accused had been harassing his wife. He even asked her to enter into a physical relationship with him. Doctors confirmed that she sustained injuries, but her condition is reported to be stable. Authorities have urged the public to provide any information that may help in his quick arrest. Police teams are conducting raids to locate and arrest the accused, who remains on the run, and are making efforts to track him down. The police have registered an FIR against the accused under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) These include: Section 118(1) – Voluntarily causing hurt or grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means. Section 115(2) –voluntarily causing harm. Section 351(2), – Criminal intimidation. Section 74 – Assault or criminal force to a woman.
