Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Raghav Chadha criticised the Indian Railways. He attributed the tragic stampede at New Delhi Railway station to their poor administration and carelessness. The incident resulted in 18 fatalities and numerous injuries. Chadha said railway passengers were being transported in severely overcrowded conditions, likening their treatment to \”potato sacks stuffed in trains\” \”This entire incident shows the level of mismanagement and negligence of the Indian railways,\” said Chadha. He sought clarification regarding the measures implemented by Indian Railway to avert such incidents from happening again. \”I think the government should sit down and take proper action on this,\” he said. \”This is a really sad accident and I think this entire incident has shaken the soul of the nation,\” added Chadha, who also mourned the loss of lives in the February 15 stampede. The tragic stampeded at NewDelhi Railway Station on Saturday claimed 18 lives. The disaster unfolded at approximately 10 pm, when a massive crowd of devotees, en route to Prayagraj for the Maha Kumbh 2025 festival, led to severe congestion at the station.
