Aberdeen Asset Management’s Rita Tahilramani says Indian markets are witnessing the sharpest correction since the pandemic. Moneycontrol discusses the relentless FII outflows with Rita from Aberdeen Asset Management, the largest active asset manager in the UK. While they acknowledged some near-term challenges at the company level, such as growth concerns, they found India’s structural outlook to be quite stable, she says. The board members observed significant infrastructure development, increased spending, and advancements in quick commerce. They were, in fact, quite impressed, she adds. She says India’s demographics are a strength, employment generation for its young workforce is a critical factor in the medium term. The Indian market has seen a correction. In terms of relative valuation, the Indian market is at 19 times earnings, which is in line with its 10-year forward forward valuation. A 10 percent correction is possible but it presents an opportunity, says Aberdeen Asset management’S Rita Tahillramani.
