BSF and police officials on Thursday paid their homage to three BSF jawans, who were killed in a road accident in Manipur. The bus in which they were travelling fell into a gorge in Kangpokpi district, officials said. 11 others were also injured in the accident. The deceased BSF personnel have contributed immensely in performing selfless duties towards maintaining law and order situation in Imphal, a BSF spokesman said. The bodies of the three jawans were sent to their respective homes in different states after the wreath-laying ceremony. The Manipur Raj Bhavan had expressed deep sorrow over the tragic accident in Changoubung village, Senapati district, where three B SF personnel lost their lives. The incident occurred in the wake of ethnic violence in the state. The injured personnel were evacuated to Senapathi District Hospital for treatment. However, the three BSF personnel succumbed to their injuries and were later pronounced dead. The accident occurred on March 11 in the Manipur state capital of Imphal.
