The former Trinbago Knight Riders all-rounder is eager to inject his energy and passion into the team. KKR have turned to Ajinkya Rahane to lead the side for the first time since Shreyas Iyer’s departure. The experienced batter became the third most expensive player in IPL history after fetching a staggering ₹23.75 crore at the auction. Venkatesh Iyer remains unfazed by the weight of expectations from the fans and believes KKR will be able to defend their title. The IPL starts on March 22 with KKR facing Royal Challengers Bengaluru. The final will be held at the Eden Garden in Kolkatta on March 28. The winner of the tournament will be crowned the IPL champion.
