Four members of a family were found dead in their residence at Habsiguda on Monday night. Osmania University police have registered a case of suspicious death. The couple were in their mid-40s, while their children were teenagers. Police are probing whether financial distress led to the tragedy. The children were poisoned before the parents took their own lives, police said. The deceased were a couple, Chandrasekhar and Kavita Reddy, and their two children, Sritha Reddy and Vishwanath Reddy. They were found hanged while the children were lying unconscious. The family lived in a two-storey house in the city’s south-eastern suburb of Habbiguda. The parents were from Hyderabad, the children from Kolkata, and the children are in the mid-to-late teens, according to police. The bodies were discovered by neighbours after they received no response from the family for several hours. The incident is being investigated as suspicious, police say.
